We had so much fun at Salt Spring’s Earth Day Festival in Centennial Park! Lots of people stopped by to speak with us about Passive House and share ideas about green building. While that is exactly what we were hoping for, the highlight of the day had to be building all those swallow houses. Our tent was a loud (confirmed by the falafal cart staff across the way…), industrious place with so many kids pounding away with hammers. 40 houses built plus a multitude of pine cone feeders. We actually ran out of wood by 2PM… We will be back with more next year!
Thanks to Alex Lyons and his co-conspirators for such a great event – and an everlasting thanks to Mother Earth for giving all of us creatures a home.
